There cottages normandy are just some things that must be considered when you’re planning a vacation. If you’re going far away, you’ll need plane tickets. You’ll need to make plans for getting around once you’re there, too. You also need a place to sleep, so you need a hotel reservation… or do you?

The fact of the matter is, more and more people are discovering what a wonderful alternative renting a private holiday cottage can really be to staying in a standard hotel room. This is especially the case when it comes to vacations to regions where such cottages are plentiful and readily available, such as beautiful Normandy.

A holiday cottage is more private.

One of the worst things about staying in a hotel is the fact that a hotel room simply doesn’t offer you much in the way of privacy. If you’re traveling with friends or family, we’re talking cramped quarters and a lot of arguing over whose turn it is to use the bathroom. Then you have to worry about your temporary neighbors. Paper thin walls can make it even more annoying than it would otherwise be to deal with someone noisy next door.

Rent a holiday cottage Normandy instead and all those annoyances disappear. You’ll get to enjoy all of the comforts of home including comfortable beds, a lovely view, plenty of space, and a fully stocked kitchen where you can cook your family hot meals a few nights a week. You’ll have your precious privacy kept well intact. Check-out times won’t be a problem either.

A holiday cottage is a better value.

Unless you’re staying in the cheapest motel money can buy, renting a private holiday cottage Normandy to stay in while you’re in Normandy won’t cost you all that much more than renting a hotel room would. This is especially the case if you’re looking to be there for a month or more. Hotel fees really add up when we’re talking about that amount of time, so your pocketbook will be thanking you for renting a cottage just as passionately as your nerves will!

A holiday cottage allows you to fully experience your vacation.

Visiting Normandy as a tourist just isn’t the same as truly immersing yourself in the culture. A holiday cottage allows you to live among the locals and experience local life the same way they do – fully, totally and completely. You can take the same walks they do in the morning, shop at the same places and get to know your neighbors. In short, you’ll have the invaluable experience of actually becoming one of the locals for a while!

If you’re planning a visit to Normandy anytime soon and are interested in finding out more about how to select the perfect holiday cottage Normandy, get the most out of your vacation to the region and more by doing your homework first.

While most people enjoy planning their trip to Normandy, most don’t really care for the legwork. This is especially so when it comes to reserving a place to stay. Sure there are the normal hotels and such. Maybe you know some folks nearby who can let you stay with them. However, you shouldn’t overlook option number 3.

Have you ever given any consideration to rental cottages Normandy? They are quickly becoming one of the most popular options for people who want to add a personal touch to their vacation and enjoy the comforts of home while they’re away and Normandy is full of options. However, you want to get what you’re looking for, so keep a few things in mind.

Be sure to book in advance.

Don’t simply assume that you’re the only person going to Normandy who will be looking into a vacation cottage for their trip. You should always plan way ahead and make an effort to secure your reservations in advance to be sure you get a shot at vacation cottages in Normandy that meet your needs and are in the right location. This should always be done no later than a month in advance, but often there are discounts or bonuses available if reservations are made even earlier. It simply depends on the rental.

Don’t consider a cottage seriously unless it meets your needs.

While many people typically remember to check for features like a fireplace or a sea view when exploring rental options, far too many people interested in cottages Normandy forget about the practicalities. Can the kitchen adequately accommodate yourself and your family? Does it come equipped with cleaning equipment and specific appliances such as vacuum cleaners or are you expected to bring your own with you when you arrive. Always prepare by finding these things out far enough in advance.

Location, location, location!

Is the cottage close enough to all your points of interest? Make sure you actually check and then check again, especially if you have never been to Normandy before and don’t know anything about the area. Don’t forget public transportation if you don’t think you’ll be renting a car. There’s nothing more harrowing than going away to a strange place, but then realizing you don’t really have any way to get around easily once you’re already there.

Choosing vacation cottages in Normandy for your holiday is really no different from any other task. You just need to remember to cover all the bases and all will be well. When you do that, you’ll very likely find yourself wondering why you never looked into this option for yourself before!

If you’d like more information in regards to choosing just the right cottages Normandy to perfect your vacation, it really does help to be in the know in advance. You’ll find out everything you ever wanted to know about planning a Normandy vacation and more.

The beaches & coastline of Basse Normandie offer good water sports opportunities to the tourists, such as surfing, windsurfing and sailing. Families often rent holiday homes in this region of France.

There is a great selection of holiday villas and self catering gites in Basse Normandie. They come to this region to have an adventurous experience by getting engaged in all such activities.

Beach Activities include Char a voile which is a Car with sail, something like windsurf that is mounted on wheels. The 3 wheel chariot is favored by the tourists as one can lie on it easily. These engines can attain good speeds if driven on the sand hardened after the retreated water.

Different resorts offer some courses to teach the amateurs about sailing the sands and provide the engine on rent also. This way one can relax comfortably while enjoying the water around.

The tourist can opt for Skim boarding which is very popular sport there that includes a board which is flat and often a wooden one. The flat beach in the region are perfect for the sport as every coming wave will leave a thin film of water on which the board is thrown and the surfer jump on every wave. Yet paragliding is often associated with mountains or nice cliffs but constant winds that are lifted by the dunes on beach side offer ideal spot for tranquil paragliding. One can experience the drift along the dune line for one hour before descending.

One can also recover his childhood memories by kite riding and surfing as it gives a wonderful lifelong experience to the surfer. The sport is favored by wind and vast beach stretches of the region and low tide make it a favorite sport. One should wear proper suit so as to avoid you from becoming wet.

We all know the French are renowned for their wonderful cuisine.  So, how can you possibly visit Normandy without sampling the culinary treats on offer? Don’t worry, there is more to the French menu than frogs legs and snails -  Normandy has some fantastic restaurants!

What time should you dine? As is the case in most countries, it is often cheaper to eat at lunchtime.  If you are set on eating at dinner time then it’s best not to arrive before 7.30pm as this tends to be the earliest you can eat.

Where should you eat? If you want a traditional French restaurant then look out for menus in French.  I would, however, avoid the main tourist destinations as you are not likely to find something and if you do, you will certainly pay an arm and a leg for a semi decent meal.

Which menu? Most restaurants will have a “menu prix fixe “, which is a great option.  Avoid the à la carte because it is obviously much more expensive but you are also most likely to find the same options on the menu prix fixe.  Whatever you do, avoid Menu Touristique!

A wine lover? As wine can be quite expensive, I suggest you opt for carafes of house wine (white or red) as these have usually been selected by the restaurant and are excellent value for money.
